The Dance Portrait Process
The dance portrait session is a very special custom experience for your dancer. Most dancers and parents say tell me they have never had a more positive and affirming creative experience than with us.
Visit the Studio
The process begins with a visit to our studio to discuss your vision and goals for the photo session, what types of costumes the dancer has, and the backdrops and fabrics we will use to complement the costume and dance style. We have a small selection of costumes the dancer can use, too.
The Portrait Session
The portrait session is scheduled soon after the initial visit - we can do a session any day of the week, morning, afternoon or evening.
During the session, we give full attention to the dancer, with time allocated for hair and makeup, costume changes, stretching, etc. We have a private dressing area for costume changes.
Viewing the Proof Images
The family is invited back to the studio a few days after the session in order to get a private viewing of the proof images and decide which are the best ones for wall portraits, albums, prints, etc.
We have a system to view the images on a large monitor where we can look at details and compare images side by side for a careful review.
